This policy sets out how we meet data protection law for visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, and how we comply with Google’s EU User Consent Policy for advertising and analytics.
1. Consent before non-essential cookies
For visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland we ask for consent before setting analytics or personalised advertising cookies. Consent is:
- Freely given – the site works fully if you decline
- Specific – analytics and advertising are separate choices
- Informed – we explain what each choice means
- Easy to withdraw – via “Cookie settings” in the footer at any time
Where we use Google advertising products, we use a Google-certified consent management platform and support Google Consent Mode v2, so Google’s tags respect your choices.
2. Google’s EU User Consent Policy
When ads or analytics from Google are used, we:
- tell visitors clearly that Google may use cookies and data, and link to Google’s explanation at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- obtain consent for the use of cookies or local storage where legally required
- obtain consent for the collection, sharing and use of personal data for ads personalisation
- keep records of consent and make it easy to change
3. Lawful bases we rely on
- Consent – analytics and personalised advertising cookies
- Contract – Premium accounts and purchases
- Legitimate interests – replying to messages, keeping the site secure, non-personalised ads
- Legal obligation – keeping payment records
4. Your rights under UK and EU GDPR
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right not to be subject to solely automated decisions with legal effects (we make none). Email hello.maintenanceloancalculator@gmail.com and we’ll respond within one month.
5. International transfers
Where data leaves the UK or EEA, we rely on adequacy decisions (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and UK extension for certified providers) or Standard Contractual Clauses.
