1. What the site is
The site provides free calculators and guides about UK student finance, plus an optional paid Premium pass. It is independent and not affiliated with GOV.UK, Student Finance England, the Student Loans Company, Student Finance Wales, SAAS or Student Finance NI.
2. Information, not advice
Our results are estimates based on the published rules for the academic year shown. They are not a decision about your entitlement and are not financial advice. Your student finance provider decides your award. Check important decisions with them or a qualified adviser.
3. Accuracy
We work hard to keep figures correct and dated (see our Editorial Policy), but rules change and errors can happen. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses caused by relying on the site.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the site: no attempts to break security, overload the service, scrape it at scale, or use it for anything unlawful.
5. Accounts
If you create an account, keep your password safe and tell us if you think someone else has used it. We may suspend accounts used to break these terms.
6. Premium purchases
- Price and length: shown on the Premium page before you pay. It’s a one-off payment for the stated period, not a subscription, unless clearly stated otherwise.
- Payment: processed securely by Stripe or PayPal.
- Your right to cancel: under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have 14 days to cancel a digital service. When you buy, you ask us to start Premium immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once access begins. If something doesn’t work, contact us – we’ll fix it or refund you.
- Changes: we may change Premium features. We won’t reduce what you’ve paid for during your current period.
7. Intellectual property
The site’s content, calculators, design and code belong to us or our licensors. You may share links and quote short extracts with credit. You may not copy the calculators or republish our guides without permission.
8. Links to other sites
We link to official and third-party sites for your convenience. We aren’t responsible for their content.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may also have rights under the law where you live.
